Interesting article on Rosh Hashanah cards:
An Exploration of the Rosh Ha'Shana card
My husband sends out Rosh Hashanah cards to many friends and relatives (even the non-Jewish ones) as a counterpoint to "Christmas cards". Sometimes, the cards don't go out until Sukkot or so, as I think will be the case this year since I don't think he has started yet. He insists on writing a personal note on every card and for people we really care about keeping in touch with, he sends a mini photo book that he puts together from photos of our family's activities of the past year. The books are about 2" x 3" with about 24 photos or so---no captions, but he says that if people don't know what a photo is or are intrigued by an interesting or mysterious activity, then it will motivate them to call us. The photo books cost just a few dollars each if he orders at least 50.
